A magnificent silver thread of suspense and a quiet dread

Jun 15, 2022

Right off the bat, this anthology took me completely by surprise. Being an avid fan of the science fiction and horror genres, I was expecting new twists on zombie apocalypses and malevolent spirits lurking in dark corners. The Leaves of Eden Fall is anything but that! There is a magnificent silver thread of suspense and a quiet dread that runs through the whole book, but in ways that tend to creep up on you rather than assault you. Jeremy’s stories get under your skin leaving you with a vestigial chill long after you’ve finished reading them.

The plot lines too are wonderfully fresh and miles out of the hackneyed box of horror stories. I enjoyed each one of the stories but if I had to pick, my favourites would be: Gardenias and Glass Noodles.

Looking forward to the next electrifying collection of tales from Jeremy Muller.
