Sunset of Illusions

SUNSET OF ILLUSIONS is an epic, enthralling story of friendship and passion, set against the volatile backdrop of war. As separatist rebels wage an armed rebellion on government forces in the resplendent island of Sri Lanka, three friends find themselves caught up in the conflict, connected by loyalty, yet divided by belief.

The lives of a conflicted sympathiser, a steadfast adversary and an idealistic mediator cross tenuous boundaries of trust and amity as they negotiate the ebb and flow of the conflict. They experience the turmoil of triumph and loss when they pursue their aspirations.

As the conflict heads towards its climax on the island’s eastern shores, long-held ambitions and convictions begin to unravel. They leave behind the stark possibility of disillusionment.

The novel explores the confrontation of competing historical narratives. People see reality through the lens of their own experience and in war, truth itself becomes a casualty.
